Software that meets
the physical world.

Our software research considers how technology can become more useful in the physical world. Robotics and autonomous systems offer a wide range of questions for software developers.

We explore those questions across software, artificial intelligence, and human-machine interaction. The emphasis is on practical applications and the experience of the people using them.

From information to understanding.

AI research explores computer vision, imaging, and scene understanding. The aim is to extract useful meaning from sensor information and support better decisions by people and machines.

These interests sit alongside our work in simulation and operator learning. We share the broad areas here while keeping individual research programmes confidential.

01 / SOFTWARE RESEARCH

Make the parts
work together.

Exploring software for robotics, autonomous systems, and other demanding applications.

02 / MACHINE PERCEPTION

Understand
the environment.

Broad interests in artificial intelligence, computer vision, and human-machine interaction.

03 / SIMULATION

Give the idea
a test environment.

Simulation as a field of research, and as a place to explore operator learning.
